Introduction of AS/RS - Tray

HOME    NEWS    Introduction of AS/RS - Tray

Trays are devicess used for stacking and transporting goods, they can be mainly divided into wooden trays, plastic trays, composite material trays, metal trays, etc.

As an efficient loading tool, trays are mainly used for the production, transportation, and storage of goods, and have been used in various fields around the world, they are important innovations in the logistics industry in the 20th century.

Considering the storage density and height of the AS/RS, we generally choose plastic or metal trays that are not easily deformed, have high loads and stable shapes. Their characteristics are as follows:

1. plastic tray

Plastic trays are made from plastic particles (including recycled particles), during the production process of each tray, high-efficient injection molding technology are adopted. Old trays can be recycled, thus reducing resource waste. Importantly, their surfaces do not require treatment like painting or electroplating.

Compared with wooden trays, plastic trays have the advantages such as light weight, good appearance, good integrity, corrosion resistance, no combustion, and no static electricity. The service life is 5-7 times more than wooden trays. Plastic trays are commonly used in industries such as food, aquatic products, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. However, if the weight of goods is over 750kg, then plastic trays are no longer recommended.

2. metal tray

Metal trays include steel trays, aluminum trays, and other alloy trays. Among them, steel trays are mainly used in the logistics industry. They are suitable for forklift operations and convenient for accessing goods. Steel trays are often treated with galvanization or surface painting, and can also be recycled and reused. The load-bearing capacity of the steel tray can easily reach the ton level, and its shape can be customized according to the length and width of the goods. It is an important device in the warehousing industry.
